Piano Recital

We're very proud of Sam, who performed in his first piano recital on Saturday. After having a bit of a meltdown at a dance performance a few weeks earlier, Sam went up on stage in front of a crowd and played reasonably confidently (from memory!). His finger separation was good and his bows were dramatic, as you will see. He was a bit unsure about the whole experience afterwards, but in the moment he was all smiles.

Afterwards, his teacher Mrs. Groth supplied a nice reception. Sammy was the youngest student on the program (ranging up to 18 years old). Sammy very nicely brought one of the cookies home for Emma. Unfortunately for her she didn't eat it quickly enough and Sammy ended up eating it anyway!

Later that day the kids played on the playground and back at home

Lastly, that evening Peter had to adorn what the kids called his "costume" (they thought it was a witch costume) for UNM graduation.

Congratulations to Sam! What a triumph!
Maybe now he will have a taste for the stage afterall. Thanks for the wonderful pictures. I think Papa looks quite distinguished in his outfit. Glad that performance was a success too.
Hope that the fact that you were able to post means you got your packing done. Have a good trip.
Much love to all,
Grandma
