Bauernhof 2

The best part of the farm trip was the amazing number of things the kids could have fun doing on their own.  Climbing and jumping in the hay, costumes, playing store, playing farm, several sandboxes, an enormous number of cars, bikes and scooters to ride.  Most of the stuff was in barns that were pleasantly cool during the rather hot days.  Emma hung upside all on her own for the first time on the hey ladder and Sammy did his first somersault on the giant trampoline.

Of course probably the best part was a group of 8 other kids ages 2-8 who were fun playmates for Sam and Emma.

One of the favorite attractions was the hammock.

Of course the MOST popular toys weren't toys at all....

And there were even toys for grown ups.

But more up the grown-ups alley was the "Summer Kitchen" where the adults could sit in the shade, use the cappuccino machine, and enjoy the calming vista.

Bauernhof - 1

Here are the first round of pics from our week-long vacation on a farm.   It was a lovely time and the kids had a lot of fun!  We had a very comfortable room in one of the farmhouses with a lovely kids room.  It was a lovely "campus" for kids and grown-ups alike and Sammy and Emma got very much into the spirit of it all.

Of course part of the fun was getting up close and personal with the animals.  One of the favorites was visiting with the goats.  The goats were allowed to come out of the stall with occasionally raucous results but they were very sweet with the children.

There's some cute video as well but we may not get to it until mid-August as things are starting heading into a busy stretch what with packing up  our temporary summer-home, flying back to ABQ and then getting up to Colorado for Tom and Sarah's wedding.  But we should have at least 2 more photo posts from the farm to tie things over.
