Concerts last weekend

It took a few days but here are some videos from last week's concert life in ABQ:

 

And then there was the performance of Emma's Song.  The video has three pieces by Emma's cello group (she wasn't there this time of course) but her piece starts at 1:45.

Science Fair

Sammy got to his "Obermüller" roots today by building a water wheel for his science fair project.  It successfully lifted a crayon, a large eraser and half-lifted a pig-in-a-minecart.  It went surprisingly well and Sam declared it was his favorite science fair project ever (along with the one from last year, which he points out is the only other science fair project he's ever done).

Emma's friend to Emma: "Why do you have to put sunscreen on when you go outside?"

Emma: "I don't know, my parents are crazy."

Mama: "Germans are like that, they're crazy."

Emma's friend to Emma: "You're not German at all, you're not crazy."

Sammy-Spruch

Gestern vormittag haben wir in einem der Badezimmer ein neues Klo installiert bekommen. Abends geht Sammy ins Bad zum Zähneputzen, während er, wie meistens, angeregt von einem Buch erzählt, das er gerade liest. Er geht aufs Klo, unterbricht sich dann und sagt nachdenklich:

"Es kommt mir vor, als wär's ein total neues Badezimmer... aber nur beim Klo."

Nachdem ich ihm bestätige, dass es tatsächlich ein neues Klo ist, sagt er erstaunt: "Ehrlich!?"...
